The Skew reviews the Savage Manifesto
First, here are some highlights of the Savage Manifesto:
Domestic
D. Immediately impose tariffs on cars and trucks
owned by foreign entities, even if they’re manufactured in America.
F.
Increase pay for active duty combat troops by 10 percent. Number Two. Fire any
unmarried military person becoming pregnant while on active duty.”
G.
Make abortions illegal, except when the physical survival of the mother is
threatened, to be determined by three medical doctors. Require Norplant for all
women on welfare of childbearing age.
H. Close all houses of sex and
massage.
I. Expand the DEA, while decriminalizing most drugs.
J.
Regarding the media; one, eliminate all foreign ownership of any American media
entity. Two, break up overly large conglomerates, like News Corporation.
K. Encourage child bearing among tax paying citizens. Create a marriage
incentive, through lower taxes for married heterosexual couples. And a
government subsidy for each child conceived and carried to birth. Increase the
subsidies for each year the couple remains married.
L. Repatriate all
illegal immigrants now incarcerated. Encourage all other illegals to
self-repatriate through double taxation on wages and fines on employers.”
International
A. Iraq. Send in Iraqi troops to mop up pockets
of resistance. Make Iraq pay with their oil for the cost of the war. Cordon off
Sadr City, force all residents to leave, then go in and mop up all resistance
fighters. Divide Iraq into three to four sectors; Sunni, Shiite, Kurd, and
International. Next, remove all U.S. troops after above achieved.
B.
Iran. One, sanctions embargoes and mine their harbors. Nothing goes in, nothing
comes out.
C. North Korea. Destroy their launching platforms, impose a
Naval blockade on all goods coming in or out, except food.
E. China. 20
percent tariffs on all China made goods immediately; rising by 5 percent each
year for each year China refuses to revalue their currency.
G. Mexico.
Force Mexico to pay one barrel of oil for every illegal alien in the United
States of America per month.
Comments by Tony:
Personally, I support Michael Savage’s message. I won’t give the usual
caveats about how this will never happen … that’s obvious, with McCain and
Obama. I just know that if a legit candidate came out with this plan, I
would support them.
Comments by Damian:
Deep 4’s like Savage have true insights into the state of affairs. I like
his manifesto because it crosses party lines and breaks liberal/conservative
labels. It’s different. U.S. has been using the same old storylines for decades
now, just with different cast members. I want to see something innovative and
strong for once (GW Bush acting like The Authority with poor follow through
didn’t pan out.)

my reaction to each in the order that you listed them in:
D = Good.
F = okay.
G = Too severe, and I understand that norplant can be harmful to the long term health of women.
If he limited it to late term abortions I might be able to agree.
H = What for? do we really want the police wasting time and energy on victimless crimes?
I = If you decriminalize most drugs, why the need to expand the DEA?
J = How about limits on ownership of radio stations within one market so that there is more diversity rather than one company owning most radio stations on the dial? does his plan include radio? if so not such a bad idea.
K = no comment.
L = Why not arrest the employers?
A = The resistance will flee along with the evacuated citizens of Iraq and hide only to come up later, just as they have always done, but other than that not such a bad plan because it at least gets our guys out of there after over five years of this.
He is right to say its not our responsibility anymore.
B = Until what? What demand are we supposed to make of them to end the embargo?
C = we could eliminate their ability to launch on their neighbors ONLY if we knew where all of the launch platforms were, and it would possibly cause a conflict with china or cause North Korea to strike japan if we didnt get them all. Not worth the risk.
E = I agree, but the tariff should be whatever it has to be in order to be equal in price to a car manufactured in the u.s so that we are actually capable of competing without hurting our own people, rather than just setting it at 20% arbitrarily, it should fluctuate as need be to account for the cost of living here, not just for china but for everybody.
we can control what we do with our currency here but we cant control what china does with its currency.
G = Not bad, I like it.
in short, some good ideas, some bad.
i still say “Dr. Savage” isnt wrapped too tight,
and the real reason i sometimes listen is because i am waiting for the men in the white coats to bust down the door and whisk him away to the nearest mental institution after he finally explodes on the air for the last time in some sort of final emotional breakdown, or outright calls his listeners to arms and to join him in the violent civil war that hes always wanted.
i cant lie,
i find his mental instability to be occasionally entertaining,
mostly because he would refer to a guy like me and most people i know as drug-crazed communist perverts who have infiltrated the society and will end up causing the downfall of america as we know it, etc.
hes like the crazy uncle i never had.
My turn: Point by point
Domestic:
Car tariffs: Agree
Combat troops: Agree
Abortion illegal: That scenario is a bit too fascist for me, but it does bring up discussion on how we should better educate teens in school to stop making babies.
Closing brothels and massage parlors: Well, either close them all or legalize them all; the current state of prostitution is LaME and in limbo. It’s illegal but millions of people do it (probably because it’s a thrill), yet have no legal protection or health regulations. Either kill it for moral reasons or legalize it to protect johns and workers.
Decriminalize drugs, while expand DEA: I need more info on this.
MEDIA: I prefer strict adherence of ethical standards and ranking “importance” of coverage.
Tax breaks/marriage/kids: Sounds fine.
Illegal immigration: They all need to be deported and all employers need to be arrested. Period.
International
Iraq: Agree
Iran: I think we should ignore Iran, don’t trade, encourage other countries not to trade, and only get involved if they ACTUALLY declare war on, and bomb Israel.
gotta go to work now…bye
You and I in a little toy shop
Buy a bag of balloons
With the money we’ve got
Set them free at the break of dawn
‘Til one by one, they were gone
Back at base, bugs in the software
Flash the message
“Something’s out there”
Floating in the summer sky
99 red balloons go by
99 red balloons
Floating in the summer sky
Panic bells, it’s red alert
There’s something here
From somewhere else
The war machine springs to life
Opens up one eager eye
Focusing it on the sky
Where 99 red balloons go by
99 Decision Street
99 ministers meet
To worry, worry, super-scurry
Call the troops out in a hurry
This is what we’ve waited for
This is it boys, this is war
The president is on the line
As 99 red balloons go by
[Instrumental Interlude]
99 Knights of the airway
Ride super-high-tech jet fighters
Everyone’s a Silverhero
Everyone’s a Captain Kirk
With orders to identify
To clarify and classify
Scramble in the summer sky
As 99 red balloons go by
As 99 red balloons go by
99 dreams I have had
In every one a red balloon
It’s all over and I’m standin’ pretty
In this dust that was a city
If I could find a souvenier
Just to prove the world was here
And here is a red balloon
I think of you and let it go
wtf? Nena…shut your dumb ass up
