Bailout Good 2

More Angel Jimenez [Editor's Note: Tony has known A.J. since elementary school. No wonder he puts up with him!]:

I just stopped by the local library yesterday. I don't know why more
people don't do this -- how Blockbuster or Border's even exists is beyond
me.

I got the final season of Charmed (what a series) along with Def Leppard's
Yeah! and the latest Marooned 5 album, along with U2's Vertigo album. I've
been listening to the music this afternoon while assembling my new bed -- man,
can you believe Windows Media asked me if I wanted to rip these songs?
Well, duh!

I didn't check any out this time, but they have a WHOLE BUNCH of audio
books on CD, too. I think I might listen to the 26-CD John Adams book at
work next month.

Government provides great services like this -- I guess Vahl and talk radio
doesn't want me to borrow a book for free? They probably think libraries
are communist.

God forbid poor people get essential services for their brain. I
always see tons of grade school and high school kids there in the evenings,
using the internet to research stuff and reading.

To me, the modern library would make the founding fathers proud. I
bet philosophers from Greek would be blown away by the free access to
information.

If the government can give us libraries, they can give us homes.
That's really how I feel.

Thanks again, Tony, for letting me share. I know we don't always see
I to I [editor's note: I think he meant eye to eye, but what he wrote looked
cool, so I left it in!], but you always let me write here no matter what.
So, that's cool.

Our Founding Fathers believed land ownership was for white men.

Guaranteeing mortgages and 1.8 trillion dollar buyouts are outside the scope.

There was a huge controversy over building continental railroads using federal money, even though state commerce and transportation would increase.

Angel, you're not borrowing that book for free, nor is public school for free. I'm paying for it. Just like I'll be paying for the 1.8 trillion dollar "rescue plan".

Glad your paying for it, buddy.

I know I don't pay for it, and I don't go to any government office to pay for the Library. Are you donating that money?

And don't tell me it comes out of my taxes ... that money's not mine anyway. How can I pay for something with money that's not mine?

Everyone knows you look at the net figure on your paycheck to figure out how to pay the bills. The only time I worry about the gross is when I apply for a car loan -- then I have to look it up. I'm not sure why they bother asking, since I'll never see some of that money.

And when the gov. needs something MORE than the taxes from our paycheck? Maybe take a loan out from the Chinese? Print some more money? Drive us into debt.

Founding fathers would not believe in paying for sports stadiums, and certainly would not believe in bailing out companies.

Clinton and the democrats signed the bill allowing Fannie and Freddie to run amok! In 2005 Republicans warned of the pending disaster and were ostracized as being unsympathetic to the plight of the lower income. Who made out on the deal? Cox, O'Bama, Pelosi, Frank...and don't jump down my throat, I am one of those above the poverty line-but did NOT fall for the free give away rhetoric. Maybe Clinton & the Democrats need to fess up to their role in this fiasco!
