OPEC and Obama

A few weeks ago, I predicted $2.00/gallon gasoline. OPEC is now working to thwart that prediction and rip more money from our wallets.

This is further proof that we need a change towards energy independence from countries that don't have our best interests at heart.

Thank goodness Obama has adopted McCain's energy independence stance. I feel comfortable knowing that when Obama is elected, we'll be a step closer to drilling off the coast of Florida for oil. I'm glad that the Picken's Plan will be put into effect by forward thinking Democrats like Nancy Pelosi.

Our lives will be better with Obama. I'm looking forward to this new reality.

You should open a tab instead.

You know, Chrome has tabs that operate exclusive of other tabs. So, if one tab crashes, the browser stays open.

I don't think he's being sarcastic.

Obama has pledged than within 10 years we will no longer be relying on the middle east or Venezuela anymore.

With clean coal technology and solar power, Obama knows what to do.

Drilling is still only a small % of oil, and would take 5-6 years.

Obama knows this, and is focused on getting new tech to be useful to us.

Within 6 years, electric cars will be in every household.

Do you think a person on welfare has the right to vote?

Why should a person who is on public assistance maintain the right to vote? Tell me why. Where is it written that they should have the right to vote?

I support them, and they should have the same vote I do? That would be like saying an infant has the right to vote or an insane person has the right to vote. Why should a welfare recipient have the right to vote? They're only gonna vote themselves a raise.

So if you get a demagogue like Obama coming along, and he says to the welfare recipient, elect me, and I'll make sure that we have trickle-up poverty, and the rich -- so-called, that is anyone who works for a living -- will give you more money, more welfare, of course you're gonna vote for the demagogue Obama. See, if I was in charge, I'd pass a law which says, OK, you can't support yourself for whatever reason, you're on welfare, you lose the right to vote.

Sav raises an interesting point. His solution would eliminate the problem of voters giving themselves a raise.

Sci-Fi writer Heinlein [sic] said, paraphrasing, that the end of any Democracy starts when the people realize they can vote themselves money. In our case, this has been going on for decades...and I would argue that the electorate is addicted to checks from the government, such unemployment, stimulus checks, tax refunds, etc. Even the rich corporations and banks are hooked on bailouts!

No shame.

Since Obama is going to win, and he's a brilliant guy, I'm sure he'll figure out a way to stop this madness before our Democracy is destroyed.
