So, why is it that a half-pint bottle of Zephyrhills water has a bigger cap than the pint-size bottle? To me, there is no logical explanation. Looks like a waste of plastic, if you ask me. Random Comments: Fool’s Gold

  • Guys — if you HAVE to watch a “date movie” to satisfy your significant other, this is the one to rent. You’ll be pleasantly surprised. It was not what I was expecting.
  • The movie mocks rappers and rich heiresses.
  • Humorous-yet-intense action sequences.
  • Kate Hudson is started to remind me of her mother in this movie.
  • Beautiful island scenery.
  • Cool treasure hunt.
  • Hudson’s reaction when she sees her ex-husband on the boat — priceless.

Even if you’re not on a date, go rent it. You might get inspired to leave your silicon princess at home and go interact with real human beings.

    I don’t detect sarcasm.

    I’m scared now.

Matthew McConaughey….romantic adventure…was only in the theaters was a few weeks….10% RT rating…

    I’ll take your word.

Or perhaps President Obama has engraved the Anti-Life Equation on your mind and took away your free will, like what happened in FINAL CRISIS #4 to everyone on New Earth…

  • Jerry Lewis says:

“Oh, Fool’s Gold? It’s a fag movie. What are you, nuts?

  • Vahl says:

What can I say, except I had zero expectations. ZERO.

I rented it b/c they didn’t have another romantic movie my wife wanted to see. I rented AVP:R, since we both like Aliens … I rented Charlie Wilson’s War cause the previews and stories about it on NPR intrigued me … and I rented Fool’s Gold.

I actually enjoyed Fool’s Gold. We both laughed and enjoyed the silliness.

I checked out Rotten Tomatoes, and I understood the reviews. If you don’t care for McConaughey, then don’t see it. I’ve gotten used to him … and he was funny in the movie, to me.

And … it wasn’t very romantic, which was fine with me. It was more of a realistic love-hate relationship with some reconciliation at the end as they both achieved dreams.

The actors were all funny in their roles.

And I enjoyed Puff Daddy and Paris Hilton being parodied in this film.

And who can argue with a cameo appearance from the GREAT Malcolm Jamal-Warner, doing a Jamaican accent and getting shot in the foot?

Again … this was ZERO expectation.

I will say this, just to clarify further — most romantic movies with my expectation dialed down to ZERO are still intolerable for me. G. does not expect me to sit through those, and I don’t.

However, if there is some humor that I enjoy, like the movie Hitch or You’ve Got Mail, then I am entertained.

So, if you caught me doing a review on, say, a David Duchovny romantic movie … then you could argue that the Anti-Life Equation had been carved into my brain.
