Blue Beetle

We had a blue VW Beetle when I was growing up.

Seeing the Blue Beetle today (photos I took), it occurred to me that the creator of the Blue Beetle comic book character was inspired by that little car with the hood in the front and the engine in the back.

And now, the old Blue Beetle - both car and character - have been replaced. Talk about irony. You have to wonder if the redesigned VW subconsciously inspired the killing of Ted Kord in the comics. I' m just sayin'.
