NFL player appears on Bonds list … and more

Larry Izzo, NFL Special Teamer and 3-time Pro-Bowler (Yes. Throw your fist in the air for the standard summary description), is on the list of potential witnesses for Federal prosecutors in the Barry Bonds case. Looks like he got some PED’s from Bonds’ old trainer back in 2003.

He’s the only NFL guy on the list.

Other “Great” (and I do mean “Great,” as in “Just Great,” as in “No really, he’s great,” as in….) MLB players on the witness list include Armando Rios, Marvin Benard, and Randy Velarde.

Gee, PED’s really work! Golly, those great names are PROOF! of that.

This story will probably continue to be a blip on the NFL’s radar. The MEDIA knows where their bread is buttered; on the football field. Roger Goodell is their current master. They kneel before him.

In unrelated news — today was the conversion for DTV for a few stations here in town. Yes, despite the Government mandate to extend the conversion date four months, stations like the local ABC and CBS affiliates kept announcing that the conversion would happen as scheduled on February 17th.

I wanted to see that white fuzz today … I wanted to see the Feds reaction to their disobedience … I turned on the old analog TV and saw?

An educational video explaining how to convert to DTV, running in a loop.

HA ha.

I hope their analog transmitter doesn’t burn out before May … it would be a shame if they have to buy new replacement parts for an obsolete system.

Right, Obama?

This DTV thing is SOOO Y2K, it’s not even funny. Okay, maybe somewhat funny. Okay, downright HILARIOUS!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA….

I really never “got” the DTV panic, although Mimic kept warning me about how civilization would crumble.

Well, civilization is crumbling, just not due to DTV. So, he had it half-right.

I was reading something with Iron Man recently (it may have been the new FF/Iron Man book from Marvel) and it occurred to me that Iron Man may have had the worst secret identity “cover story” of any superhero ever.

He’s supposed to be Tony Stark’s “bodyguard”. Yet, nobody has ever seen the two of them in the same place at the same time! Don’t you think that after the first 10 or 20 years, people might start to wonder about that?

  4. CBG says:

Newsflash: Iron Man has gotten around his problem with some creative solutions. He has had trusted friends wear the armor, like “Happy” Hogan and Jim Rhodes. He has used automated versions of his armor. And for a while, there was an LMD (Life Model Decoy) version of Tony Stark that would do limited public appearances while Stark wore the armor.

Worst secret identity ever? No contest. Mary Marvel’s Mary Batson. Not only is there no effort to disguise her features, she includes her name as part of her super-hero moniker. It’s the equivalent of Clark Kent going around fighting crime as Super-Clark.

Green Arrow’s secret identity is hilarious!

I think Giffen did a great job of it in an issue of Action where the Ambush bug figured out superman was clark kent and mocked him for it.

    i got a question:

since all these players on steriods are all full of crap anyway why dont they just call a press conference and say that they never took steroids, all the tests are wrong and everybody else is lying except them?

this might refute a lot of their earlier statements but they could say they were just lying those other times because somebody else told them to.

I know what im saying sounds stupid, but nobody believes them anyway so theyve got nothing to lose by just coming out now and saying that they never used, all the tests or whatever are wrong and whatever earlier statement they made that contradicts their current claim of never using steriods is false and they are telling the truth now when they say they have never used any.

    why not?
theyve been lying about it all along, why not just say, I never used steriods and stick with it, theyve got nothing to lose because nobody believes them anyway and all the players on steroids could say that all the tests are wrong.

besides all that it would also be funny if they did that.

you might think im joking, but Im about 60% serious on this.
