Four Uigurs in Bermuda
I've heard talk on Clear Channel that there are photos of released Gitmo Detainees splashing in the waters over at the beaches of Bermuda. The Clear Channel employees painted a picture of terrorists vacationing in paradise.
THANKFULLY, NPR interviewed the four Uigurs and their translator. Here's what I learned:
- Uigurs are a minority from China.
- These four left China, and ended up in the Middle East.
- They were captured by a bounty hunter; no explanation was offered for why they were wanted.
- They were found Not Guilty. They continued to stay at Gitmo, and were free to roam about. They were moved out of the prison section.
- The worst part of the detention was when Chinese interrogators were allowed to speak to them.
- China wants then back but the U.S. refuses to send them back.
- Bermuda finally agreed to take them.
- There are 20 more innocent Uigurs being detained at Gitmo, with no place to go.
I hope that clears that up. The Clear Channel employees should be ashamed for getting the story wrong.

Thanks for doing the research, Vahl. I saw the Drudge headline and pic last week and didn't even click on it because my instincts told me it was skewed and fake.
Amazing how Drudge has to resort to such misleading headlines to bash Obama.
they have no shame.
you cant shame them the same way you cant shame reptiles that eat their own children.
they dont care what the facts are, they are stuck on the waterboarding is not torture argument and have been ignoring the facts that many people have been held without evidence for years, which means some people in custody at guantanamo have done nothing.
there has to be some kind of process to separate the innocent from the guilty but these people will always say "you want to release terrorists!"
I think deep down they know that some innocent people are being held but just dont care.
even the nazi's got a trial to prove their guilt before they were executed.

On a similar note, it makes things easier for some people since our MEDIA and previous administration painted all Muslims as demons.
Hitler said Jews were rats to spread hate and fear (and thus morally justify anything).
Amnesty International lists Guantanamo as a crime against humanity because of the legal counsel/due process/torture issues.
Very sloppy execution by Bush and his people. Very difficult way out of this now.
