  • Diets that Work
The search for diets that work has eluded many seekers. Before looking into any specific type of diet, the person must have the following personality attributes: dedication, drive, commitment, and discipline. Yeah, it sounds like joining the army, I know, but the bottom line is that you have to keep on top of your diet [...] […]

  • The "Walk Away" House Abandonment Myth
I had a talk today with a friend who abandoned a rental property last year after he lost a renter and was unable to find a replacement. Here is what I learned from the conversation: he just got a 1099-A from the bank. This is good, right? […]

  • Comment on Racist Dixie Flag flying in Tampa by Damiac-99
Very controversial. Ya gotta be a Southern Boy to appreciate Dixie- they will tell you that it's an American military symbol with no political overtones. Obviously, I feel the same way you do- I see the CSA wanting slavery and weakening the Union- literally having a desire to destroy the U.S., which would have made us weaker in the World Wars (alternate […]

- I heard a clip from Obama's speech to the AMA. He mentioned Tort Reform and the physicians applauded. Obama said, "Wait a minute," and proceeded to state he was against Tort Reform AND the doctors needed to stop practicing defensive medicine and provide better care.

How are doctor's supposed to stop practicing defensive care when they're afraid of lawsuits? Telling doctors to do better is not a solution. Words will not reduce costs or inspire better care.

- Everytime I hear Rush cite veterinary care as an example of a for-profit healthcare system that works, I cringe. Ask Damian what he thinks of some veterinarians.

- Iran: I suspect that the Ayatollahs are using this thrown election to draw out potential enemies of their state into public in order to be arrested and/or shot, or just plain shot.

Iran: Ramalani says the same thing…he said he speaks from experience in living under similar conditions.

Rush on vets: I guess if you have $50 million bucks, $600 vet bills don't mean anything.

Think X-rays and ultrasounds cost a lot? It costs more at the vet.

Animals have no rights. If you don't have the money, they will not treat your animal.Insurance companies will not give coverage to pets they deem risky.

A full CDC (deep blood chemistry tests and diagnostics) is around $250 to send to a lab. If the lab smudges the blood on the slide, it needs to be redone at your expense.

You know I can go on and on. It is not an exact science, and the tests costs money. You have to find a vet you can trust. They must do these tests to rule out things and prescribe the right medicine and treatment.

There doesn't seem to be a centralized database, though. It's still "Lemme call a specialist" or "I spoke to a tech at the lab" or "a chemo expert in Cooper City says…"

Even without tests, when I was in the waiting room last week, I saw a man purchase a small bottle of antibiotic spray for $93. He was shocked.

Word of advice to future pet owners: buy pet medical insurance as soon as you get your pet.
