Governor Perry Socialism 2012 Presidential Campaign Sarah Palin Obama aloof disconnected SimEarth China Dalai Lama and Tibet comparison to the South during the Civil War
I checked out some more Drudge Headlines, since he gets straight to the point and they’re so provocative, like great comic book covers of the past. Here are some quick impressions:
- Texas Governor Perry, according the headline, stated that the USA is heading towards socialism.
No offense, but that headline, while provocative on the surface, is actually a total YAWN. Governor Perry is angling for a run at President in 2012, and has decided to go after conservative voters as he builds his campaign.
I would not be surprised if Valley of the Dolls looking-gal Sarah Palin coronates him as the standard bearer of conservatism when he officially announces his Presidential candidacy. Whatever. Boring. Another politician playing the game. Call me when someone with sincerity shows up.
I say that because I’ve heard callers from Texas call conservative talk shows COMPLAINING about Governor Perry, and saying he’s not really a conservative. So….
Of course, I’ve heard Perry on the Michael Savage show as well … and we know Savage appeals to independent conservatives across the fruited plain, so … I could say Governor Perry is a politician with the courage to appear on Savage show … or I could just say that he has zero shame. Take your pick.
- Mom tells Obama to “End” the Afghanistan war, or to make a decision on troop levels … something like that.
Here’s my take — Obama’s approach makes him look aloof. He looks like an academician solving a mathematical equation on paper. He appears disconnected from the realities of war. He looks like he’s playing SimEarth or whatever.
If Obama can’t figure out that risking lives on the frontlines while waiting to make a decision is bad policy … if he can’t see that helping out our troops is more important than passing his signature issue of healthcare reform, along with cap and trade legislation … then he’s just proving my point from last year during the campaign: President Obama is not qualified to be president.
A second point: if he’s this aloof about military lives fighting in wars overseas, then how disconnected is he from senior citizens who depend on Medicare and may have their benefits cut in order save money on healthcare reform? If he doesn’t care about soldiers serving our country, why would he care about your grandma?
I truly hope I’m wrong about the previous two paragraphs. I hope Obama proves me wrong with ACTION, and not more INDECISIVENESS.
- China compares the Dalai Lama and Tibet to the South during the Civil War?
Talk about SKEWED. If Obama buys that line of reasoning, and ends up canceling his meeting with the Dalai Lama, then we really ARE IN TROUBLE.
Free Tibet now. Period. End of story. Obama should demand an apology for China’s insane and callous comparison (how dare they compare slave owners to peaceful Tibetan Monks? How dare they TRIVIALIZE the suffering of African-American slaves?), and cancel his trip over there if they refuse to comply.
Again … if Obama just shrugs his shoulders and dutifully flies over there to meet with our Chinese Overlords … well, dang and damn, man. We have an empty suit as President.
