Belichick, Greenspan, Cramer, Avatar, James Cameron
Here are some quick things I learned over the weekend:
- ESPN radio dudes are suggesting the Bill Belichick has lost control of the New England Patriots, even after they won on Sunday!
OPINION ALERT
As a Giants fan, I know Belichick is the reason we had any shot of winning the Superbowl in 1990. He kept Buffalo off-balance with that crazy 2 lineman – 5 linebacker defense he ran that day … the extra linebackers helped wear down the Bills offensive stars.
This is the same Bill Belichick who lost his star quarterback last year and proceeded to lead his team to an 11-5 record last year — a record that is normally good enough for a playoff birth, if not a division crown.
Last I checked, Tom Brady, coming off that crazy knee injury, has not been himself since he came back. Last I checked, the defense is in a rebuilding mode … so, he’s got less talent to work with, and he’s still got a team on the brink of the postseason.
I doubt Belichick has lost the confidence of his players. If anything, Tom Brady is probably closer to that than the coach.
Here, folks, is another fine example of how the MEDIA works. You see, Belichick doesn’t kiss LaMEPiN’s butt. Tom Brady, on the other hand, is a MEDIA darling. So … when things go bad with Brady, Belichick gets the blame. If Belichick reprimands players for being late to a meeting, all of a sudden he’s lost control of the team.
What a bunch of nonsense.
Belichick has never cared about the MEDIA. Let’s face it — getting along with the MEDIA doesn’t help you win football games!
I think NBC got access to Belichick practice once, and you know what I saw? I got who got along with and related with HIS PLAYERS. The man who is accused of being rude, impersonal, arrogant, etc., was down to earth, cracking jokes, and talking football specifics with the athletes. What a contrast.
Based on how his teams have played for him over the years, I have NO DOUBT that Belichick is not just a genius, but a great PLAYER’S COACH.
I really was offended by LaMESPiN Radio’s attempts to write off Belichick this evening. Just cause the guy doesn’t sell Coors Light doesn’t mean you got to bash him, guys. Sorry he doesn’t bring in ad revenue for your LaMESPiN network — maybe you should go create the next Tiger Woods so you can sell more ad spots to Gillette and Gatorade.
What a joke.
END OF OPINION ALERT
- Saw Jim Cramer and Alan Greenspan on Meet the Press this morning. Cramer suggested that companies have not seen the stimulus money in action, and that CEO’s wish the President would stop talking about his agenda, because it’s scaring everybody.
Alan Greenspan said interest rates could not stay low forever. He said unemployment would go down in the next year, but still be aroun 9% to 10% because as more people go back to work, people who gave up looking would start looking for work again.
- The initial reviews for Avatar (you know, that James Cameron movie?) have been STRONG. One reviewer guaranteed it would break Titanic’s box office record!
From what I gathered, it’s got:
- Trail of Tears references
- Titanic-style romance
- the mother of all battles
- new colors never before seen by the human eye
- the best of use of IMAX 3D technology to date
- a film-making leap forward equivalent to when the movie turned to color in Wizard of Oz
The above are NOT opinion alerts … they are opinions from the movie reviewers. I am devoid of opinion on the subject. I would like to see the movie at an IMAX, but due to the holiday season/Financial CRISIS, I will be unable to attend the Avatar soirée.
James Cameron — can you spare a brother a dime?

I predict Vahl will drop $60 to see Avatar in IMAX with his family even though Cameron will be *giving away* Avatar DVDs at Wal*Mart in 3 months or less to try and payoff the Thai assassins that will be after him since he will be in debt.
I ran it through my sim 1000 times and this happened 666 times.
That's right, it already happened. How was it Vahl?
Vahl: uh, Bill J.? The movie isn't out yet?
Did your sim predict James Cameron would pick me up by helicopter to go see it today? Did it predict he would spare this brother $60? If so, yes. I saw it this morning (exclusive screening) in Fort Lauderdale and loved it.
I suggest you put down the simulator and get some fresh air, Bill J.
If your sim was worth it's salt, it would predict I'd see it only if it was a Titanic-sized hit and not akin to the real-life Titanic sinking in the sea, sometime in February.
I suspect this is going to be the new Waterworld … so, I can't wait to see it on Netflix a next year.
I was clearly speaking with one of the 666 future versions of Vahl.
From an objective point of view, taking everything that has ever been published or written on the Enneagram from Claudio Naranjo to Don Richard Riso (collectively) would not add up to much more than 10 % of 1% of what is already known about this ancient symbol.
Want to know the secret truth?
I'm still running sims on it, I'll get back to you.
