deep thought provoking questions on Toyota recall; Obamacare, Robert Gibbs, Scott Brown, President Obama Spending Freeze
What I’ve learned today from Wii news, GMA, and Glenn Beck:
- Toyota is recalling practically all of their 2009 and 2010 vehicles due to gas pedals that stick to the floor … dealerships are upset because they have been ordered to not sell any of these cars until the problem is fixed. They still don’t have a definite solution.
OPINION ALERT … OPINION ALERT
Just some deep thought provoking questions: Is this the end of Toyota’s reputation? Will the U.S. automakers regain their reputation because of this? Will Honda dominate now? Will other Asian auto makers, like Nissan and Suzuki, swoop in and gain market share?
- The Congress is still trying to figure out how to proceed on Obamacare. They may offer a scaled-back version to attract Republican support, or continue to fight along partisan lines.
- Robert Gibbs, White House Press Secretary, said this morning on GMA that this was one of the worst periods in American History
OPINION ALERT … OPINION ALERT
I’m not buyin’ that statement. There’s no way that 2009, as bad as it was economically, was one of the worst periods in American History.
I mean, what a historically ignorant statement. Let’s forget all the economic depressions and wars this nation has been through. Okay.
Talk about lack of perspective.
- Scott Brown would beat Barack Obama if the Presidential Election was today
- During his State of the Union address, President Obama will be talking about a spending freeze on non-military domestic budget items … this does not include Medicare and Social Security
OPINION ALERT … OPINION ALERT
Conservatives are begrudgingly acknowledging Obama’s desire to cut the budget.
I’m sorry, but as someone who remembers what Obama promised last year — why is anyone surprised by this and assuming he’s doing this only because Scott Brown lost? Obama claimed he would be cutting the budget starting in 2010, so, sorry, but this is not a Newsflash!
As far as I’m concerned, Obama’s keeping his word.
Another thought — I think he knew this first year would be tough on his popularity … which is why he promised budgetary restraint after 2009.
