Haiti Adoption, Volunteer in Haiti, State Department, USAID
I’ve been in touch with a couple of people who have rental properties that they are willing to donate to house Haitian refugees. I have been unable to find anything set up yet for people with extra living space to donate, but I do have the following links which may prove useful in getting the ball rolling:
State Department Adoption page
Eligibility requirements for adoption
State Department Information Page — if you’re looking for someone, or have located relatives, you can let the proper authorities know.
CIDI — this is a government page dedicated to Haiti Crisis; there’s a phone number on there for volunteer/donation.
USAID Volunteer Registration Page: if you have technical expertise or disaster experience and are willing to volunteer your time to travel to Haiti, you can register here with the proper authorities.
I hope this helps you navigate the bureaucracy and find what you’re looking for.
If anyone has further information, please add it in the comments section.
