NPR: Hassan, Sperm, Hope
Here's what I learned from NPR while driving to work this morning:
- low level administrators and doctors who supervised or trained maj. Nadil Hassan are being investigated, including one dude who tried to get Hassan fired but was ordered by higher-ups to promote him due to possible legal issues. The higher-ups are not being investigated yet
- 81% of Americans in a Gallup poll said Muslims do not believe in equality between men and women
- a scientist showed that sperm from multiple male rats trying to fertilize an egg will group with their relatives, shunning the other groups; they don't mix together
- Hope is a new musical about the 2008 U.S. presidential election. The show is running Germany, in english. The writer/producer of the show didn't think it made business sense to run the show in America right now, given Obama's unpopularity
- U.S. Senate leaders met yesterday to discuss how to pass Obamacare out of committee, given Scott Brown's upset victory in Massachusetts. Republicans leaders want a bipartisan approach, and are saying ,"I told ya so, the American people wouldn't like it" to Democrats who decided to go it alone.
