What I learned YESTERDAY (Thanks, mail2blogger)

Well, I sent FOUR posts to this blog yesterday via my Blackberry … all four were successfully sent. This morning, when I decided to share my posts on twitter, THEY WEREN’T THERE! They were not POSTED!

I logged in to blogger, checked out where they might be … and they were NOT IN THE EDIT POSTS SECTION EITHER!

I searched in the WWW and found the folks at Blogger to be COMPLETELY UNRESPONSIVE. I dropped a note at the Blogger help section to let them know this is, like, a problem? Hello? Anybody out there? Someone on January 9th had the same problem and there was, like, no reply at all?

I mean, if Google is too busy to manage Blogger, uh, then, like, sell the company? Release it from it’s shackles? Let it go? Hello?

Anyway, without further adieu, here are my four blog posts from yesterday:

1. HAITI, TERRY PRATCHETT, ASSISTED SUICIDE

Here’s what I learned this morning on NPR and BBC:
- the U.N. and other aid agencies in Haiti are passing out food almost exclusively to women. Gangs composed primarily of men have been disruptive at distribution centers

- people in Haiti have to wait in line for a token or ticket to get food the next day

OPINION ALERT

Text “YELE” to 501501 to donate $5 to the Yele Haiti charity.

- Sir Terry Pratchett, author of the Discworld series, is pushing for the legalization of assisted suicide in Britain. He will be giving a lecture today on the subject. He announced two years ago that he suffering from Alzheimer’s.

OPINION ALERT

That ought to be an, uh, interesting lecture!

2. OBAMA, DEFICIT SPENDING, MOON

Things I learned from Rush Limbaugh:
- Obama voted for the “Expensive” Medicare prescription drug bill as a U.S. Senator

- Obama voted “Yes” for spending bills that came through the Senate, going back to 2005

- Part of the deficit created by Republicans was a result of post-9/11 spending

- Obama promised to send manned missions to the Moon when campaigning against Hillary Clinton back in 2008

- Democrats controlled Congress for the last two years of the Bush Administration, and passed deficit-expanding spending bills during that time

3. GLENN BECK, NANCY PELOSI, PUTIN, CHINA

This is what I learned while listening to Glenn Beck this morning:

- Nancy Pelosi will “Pole Vault” to make Obamacare happen

- Putin approached China last year about dumping Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae stock (Opinion Alert — I guess Putin read Debt of Honor)

- U.S. government has recently downgraded the threat from China’s hackers

4. NANCY PELOSI, LECH WALENSA

Here’s more of what I learned while listening to Rush today:

- Nancy Pelosi gets practically-free flights for her kids and grandkids to fly back and forth from San Fransisco and Washington D.C.

- Lech Walensa (formed first independent trade union in Poland during an era of Soviet control; later became President of Poland), speaking to a U.S. crowd during a political rally, said the world used to look to America as the last hope, but that is no longer the case. He also said the world lacks leadership and America is no longer a moral compass for the world … something like that.
