As someone who takes care of a special needs family member, I can tell you that getting the right equipment for medical purposes is really important. Medical equipment can facilitate a better lifestyle for someone battling illness or disease.
If you or a family member is in need of mobility assistance, I suggest you check out NMEDA. They are a non-profit trade organization that will help you find a local dealer who can customize a vehicle to fit your requirements.
Beware of websites that sell adaptive vehicle equipment. The best way to guarantee you’ll get equipment that fits your home and driving needs is to have a dealer schedule an in-person appointment to assess your situation.
All you have to do is go to the NMEDA website and enter your zip code. NMEDA will locate a dealer near you. Your local dealer can meet with you and tailor a transportation solution for you, including accounting for your driving needs. Whether you drive a pick-up truck or a van, or need space as a passenger for your wheelchair, there are a variety of ways to make your life easier.
I ran a search for my area, and found two QAP (Quality Assurance Program) dealers. QAP is an national accreditation program for the Adaptive Mobility Equipment Industry that provides a systematic and documented approach to quality. Be sure to look for a QAP dealer when searching on the NMEDA website.
Once you find a dealer at the NMEDA website, feel free to leave a comment here with your results.

You need to go to a dealer, there is no way around it aside from breaking the window and I doubt that you want to do that.
this entire episode is filled with so many funny scenes, phrases, lines, quotes, etc…but i truly and always get such a laugh at “rent-a-loser” and “no matter how dumb the dealer looks…cut the cards!” LOL!!
