Which Animal Are You?

A guide to human personality types

We are like the animals. We carry within each of us an animal that symbolizes our personalities. Occasionally, our animal will morph into an another creature -- as we grow as human beings, our symbolic animal changes to match our growth.

Some of us will stick with our original animal, because we've become accustomed to it's needs and wants. Inevitably, we change, whether we like it or not, and in these cases, the animal within flees, leaving us alone, until we have the courage to find our new animal.

Occasionally, we slide backwards and mutate ... adopting an animal that is unhealthy for us to associate with. In these cases, we risk hurting ourselves, and others ... committing serious crimes ... we are in grave danger when we select our unhealthy symbolic animal.

Our hope here at the Animalgram institute is that this listing of animals will help you understand where you are in life, and where you will be going. To understand ourselves, it is good to understand the wisdom of the animals.

-- Dr. Richard Hoffman V, of the 24th century Animalgram institute

Types

One: The Seagull

Two: The Manatee

Three: The Eagle

Four: The Wolf

Five: The Woodpecker

Six: The Dog

Seven: The Squid

Eight: The Bear

Nine: The Man-o-war

The Triads

Air Species: 1, 3, 5 -- these types tend to keep their distance, and in some cases, look down on other types. For example, woodpeckers create clever homes that keep them isolated from other animals, high above the earth.

Land Species: 4, 6, 8 -- these types tend to be grounded and are the most likely to appear human to the other types. For example, bears can seem big and cuddly, but suddenly become dangerous -- displaying a full range of raw human-like emotion.

Sea Species: 7, 9, 2 -- these types can be mercurial and mysterious, and may unexpectedly attack, hide, or clumsily get in the way of other types. For example, the squid quickly disappears within a cloud of black liquid when sensing danger, almost like a magician.

Rewiring Path

In the early 21st century, a separate Animalgram path was discovered by DailySkew co-founder Tony DeCarvalho.  His contributions to Animalgram research impact us to this day, over 300 years later.

Mr. DeCarvalho determined that along with paths of integration and disintegration, there was also a path of rewiring.

Rewiring occurs when a person is under extreme duress from factors in the environment. An example would be living in a 20th-century country where the individual is oppressed by a totalitarian regime, with no basic human rights.  Being imprisoned and interrogated for extended periods can also cause rewiring, as well as intense, prolonged treatments for physical or mental ailments.

Rewiring can occur at any stage of a person's life -- childhood, adolescence, adulthood.  An overbearing parent or spouse can trigger the process of rewiring, for example.  Any pressure that is too much for the person to bear for an extended period of time can and will lead to rewiring.

We now know that the process of rewiring is gradual -- much like a frog being boiled slowly to death, the person may not be aware of the shift until it has already occurred.

Here is the rewiring path:

3---> 8---> 7---> 9---> 5---> 4---> 6---> 2---> 1--->

Keep in mind two things:

1. You can only rewire in one direction.

2.  You can return to your original Animalgram personality after rewiring has occurred.

So, if you act out the Wolf type, you would rewire into a dog.  You would not slide backwards and rewire into a woodpecker.  The four would have to rewire through all the Animalgram types to reach type 5, and we would hope no one would be under that much duress in one lifetime!

Rewiring can be easily viewed as a negative experience.  Based on our research, however, we find that it is neither good nor bad -- it all depends on the person.  For example, a healthy Seagull that rewires into an Eagle will more than likely be healthy after rewiring is complete.  As the Seagull will have integrated with the Squid, a rewired Eagle will still be integrated, only this time with the Dog.  Obviously, an unhealthy person will suffer more if rewiring occurs.
